Maryam Mosque, or the Mosque of Mary, also known as the Galway Mosque is named in honour of Mary, mother of Jesus. 

The foundation stone of the Mosque was laid by His Holiness Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (May Allah strengthen his hand), the Spiritual Head of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community on Friday 17th September 2010. 

The work on the site officially commenced in July 2012 and inaugurated in September 2014 by his Holiness. It is the first purpose-built mosque in Galway, Ireland. 

The mosque has 1 minaret and 1 dome furthermore it can hold up to 300 worshippers. Main feature is that it represents the local architecture.



The International Association of Ahmadiyya Architects & Engineers is an organization with the primary aim of providing humanitarian aid and development to the poorest of the world.
