Alternative Energy Committee (AEC) was established in 2005 under the guidance of his Holiness Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the spiritual head of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Community. The task set out for AEC was to tackle the energy poverty by provision of decentralised renewable energy solutions like solar & wind energy in the deprived parts of Africa.
