Nyenyesi Well Deepening

Kenya – Nyenyesi Mission House

Since February 2020, the rehabilitation of the Water well was planned to be executed. It has taken almost a year to complete the task due to the covid-19 pandemic. The feasibility study suggested an increase of well depth as the water table had dropped over the years. The local water tests indicated safe water to be consumed for general purposes. The initial assumption of water contamination was due to the long functionality of the water hand pump. Mechanical faults were a prime cause for unreliable water dispensing. Through the deepening of the well of approximately 33ft from 27ft initially, the water source would be rehabilitated. A better yield will be seen through an increase in depth.
